The holiday season is there during Christmas, and everyone wants something adventurous and exciting. I have included a handful of Christmas books for 9–12-year-olds.

Whether you and your children have a basket of books as I do or just countdown to Christmas so that new books can be added to the collection, you are at the right place, so here follows the list of the most appropriate Christmas books for 12-year-olds

It’s the story of nine-year-old Holly Carol and her family, who are living their merriest lives and try to spread cheer wherever they go.

The twist comes in the story when she is sent to school; not everyone appreciates her festival spirit. This is a captivating story about the importance of spreading cheer and the magic of friendship.

NUTCRACKER 

Written by Susan Adrian, The Nutcracker is one of the most appropriate Christmas books for 12-year-olds.

It is the story of Georgia, who has waited her whole life to dance the part of Clara in the Nutcracker ballet. It’s almost like a dream come true when Georgie finally gets the part; she enters a world where everything is magical whenever she dances with the Nutcracker doll.

Georgia has to save herself, the Nutcracker, and her friend when the Nutcracker’s magic steps into real life.

Her search begins with the help of eight reindeer, some elves, the queen, and Charles Dickens.

This story is something of a suspense thriller to know whether George will find a way to bring the joy of Christmas home once again or if he fails in everything.

Written by C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the story of four siblings: Peter, Edmund, Susan, and Lucy.

When they all step through a wardrobe into the land of Narnia, they discover something very strange. That strange thing was a land frozen in eternal winter due to the power of an evil white witch.

This story is about whether or not the four siblings could help the true leader of the land, the great lion Aslan, save the land of Narnia.

Written by Matt Haig, Father Christmas and Me is one of the best Christmas books for 12-year-olds. It is the story of Amelia Wishart, who lives in Elfhelm with her new adoptive parents, Father Christmas, and Mary Christmas.

The school in which Amelia studied was the one where she was taller than all the other students, including her adults.

Elf’s school work was not like human school work, and this story shows whether Amelia should return to the human world or stay there only.

Written by Ben Miller, The Night I Met Father Christmas is a mind-blowing story by Jackson, who loves Christmas.

As he loved the festival of Christmas, he was aware of almost everything, but there was just one thing that he wished he could ask Santa.

He wanted to ask Santa, “How did he become Father Christmas?” On Christmas Eve, he stays awake so that he can talk to Santa, but his expectations are not fulfilled.

11. THE CHRISTMAS GENIE

THE CHRISTMAS GENIE

Written by Dan Gutman, The Christmas Genie is one of the most appropriate Christmas novels for 9–12-year-olds.

This story is about when Christmas vacation was just hours away, and the 5th-grade class of Mrs.

Walter could almost taste it. A genie pops out of the classroom windows and grants the class one wish, but if the class can’t agree on one wish in an hour, then Christmas vacation will be canceled.

Written by Sibeal Pounder, Tinsel: The Girl Who Invented Christmas is a story that will let your child know much about Christmas.

What happens is that Blanche Claus aims to deliver gifts to every child on Earth with the help of her best friend and aspiring chef, Santa.

It’s somewhat about that if we all got the Santa story wrong. It’s a funny, festive ride that your child will never forget.

Written by Tom Fletcher, The Christmasaurus is the story of ten-year-old William, who wants a dinosaur for Christmas even after knowing that all the dinosaurs are extinct.

Christmasaurus lands in William’s home on Christmas Eve due to a mix-up at the North Pole, and the two form an instant friendship.

After their friendship, they attempt to get Christmasaurus home to Santa at the North Pole; hence, they find themselves on the adventure of a lifetime.

Written by Tom Fletcher, The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch is one of the most attractive sequels in which Santa visits William and his family.

Not only did Santa visit William’s house, but he also invited all of them to the North Pole.

By visiting the North Pole, they all discover how Christmas works; they meet the mysterious and magical winter witch and learn of her power to control time so that Santa can easily travel all around the world on Christmas Eve.

Written by Andrew Clements, The Last Holiday Concert is an amazing novel by Hart Evans.

It is the story of when the popular sixth grader, Hart Evans, is put in charge of the big holiday concert by his exasperated music teacher.

After this, he soon discovers a big difference between popularity and leadership. Due to all this, the entire class learns lessons about the importance of working together, democracy, and the true meaning of Christmas.

THE NAUGHTY LIST

Written by Michael Fry and Bradley Jackson, The Naughty List is one of the ideal Christmas books for 9–12-year-olds.

This story concerns Bobbie, whose hilariously bumbling efforts to save her brother’s Christmas land him in trouble. Not trouble, but it’s Santa’s naughty list, so she must travel to the North Pole to make things right on Christmas Eve.

So finally, she found herself on an epic adventure full of rogue elves, dysfunctional reindeer, a lazy Santa, and much more.
